So I've had a chance to let the news sink in. I mean really, more than six months notice to find another job is more than a lot of people get. Granted if I have trouble finding something, I don't have a redundancy package to tide me over. I have nothing. In fact I have four weeks before Centrelink will give me anything. So I simply have to have my next job lined up before the centre closes, or else hello trouble. I shall try and put more aside for that, just incase. But I really hope I get a few extra hours a week for the rest of the year.
I then have to think, what on earth am I going to do? I was thinking of applying for a job at the AMF Bowling Centre, just so I have an excuse to hang around the place. Perhaps I will pursue the dream of a career in radio. What I should do is try and get something decent written and look for a publisher. I just don't know what to do. Because I don't have that many skills. I'm of course almost employable in any call centre now, having been trained at Telstra. Except the ones that sell, I don't want to sell. I want to resolve people's problems or advise them of what exactly is happening.
I am glad I only have to work three hours tonight, I am so going bowling afterwards. I need the release, and the fun. Well I am going bowling, if Rachel will take me.
I am also going to buy a few more nice cards before I give the hobby away for the time being (I've not really obtained many cards recently for the NBA collection - mostly AFL cards). It's just too damn hard to get anywhere with the cards when I really need to start saving. It is a shame, because cards have always been a fun thing for me. I had a nice surprise today, just a few cards sent to me free of charge by an Ozcarder, it was really nice random act of kindness. It brought a smile to my face.
